I have been seeing Brian Johnson sliding on a lot of lists. Earlier in the year some thought him to be within the first 10-20 picks now a lot of mock drafts are saying 2nd round. Just curious your thoughts on him?
I’ve noticed that in your past couple of mocks you have the Brewers taking Brian Johnson. Is it just because Johnson is usually in that range in the mock or do the Brewers have a specific connection to Johnson?
I thought you had a brain blockage when I saw you had Giolito as the 5th pick, given his injury. But maybe not, he’s 18 years old and even if he has to have Tommy John surgery and loses a year he could still be in The Show as a 22-year old. Additionally, he may have the highest ceiling in the draft as a potentially elite starting pitcher. At worst he’s probably an effective closer. I wouldn’t moan if the M’s took him.

I will be somewhat disappointed if we pick Zunino with Correa and Giolito still on the board. Yeah, quickest to the majors and all that. I just am concerned about his mediocre production against stronger competition in the SEC and his hit tool, which is good but not great. I think, if you choose a catcher this high, he needs to have HUGE upside and Zunino doesn’t.
Wow. I really hope it shakes out like this. Carlos Correa is at the top of my wish list for the Cubs at #6.
Don’t look now but your boy Lovegrove is sliding and don’t even see Poteet on your list anymore. I told awhile ago they’re not day one guys.

I’ll bet you Pittsburgh does not take Marrero. Week hitting team will draft good offense if top pitcher does not drop. Look for Gilloto, Almora or Correa or any body other than weak hitting Marrero
